The chiefs and elders of Kwawu Atibie in the Eastern region have purified the Odweanoma Mountain to minimise rampant accidents.

There has been an alarming rate of road crashes on Nkawkaw Atibie road (Odweanoma mountain), prompting traditional authorities to purify the land.

As part of the purification and cleansing procession, they pleaded with the gods to forgive them of any offence committed.

Speaking to Adom News, the Akyeamehene of Kwawu Atibie, Nana Bamfo Dankwah ll said some of the accidents shouldn’t have occurred.

Following the exercise, he expressed confidence travellers can now ply the route without fear.

Meanwhile, Nana Atuobi Yiadom, the fetish priest of Kwawu Atibie after pouring libation and appeasing the gods with sheep and hens, their prayers have been answered.

She advised drivers to be cautious to prevent avoidable accidents.
