Kwahu Afram Plains Drivers Union demands action on faulty ferry

-

The Kwahu Afram Plains Drivers Union has called on the Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) to fulfill its promise to repair the ferry serving the Adawso to Ekye Amanfrom route.

The drivers lament that the faulty ferry continues to disrupt their businesses and livelihoods.

On July 16, 2024, the union staged a demonstration against VLTC to protest the persistent issues with the ferry.

However, according to the union’s Public Relations Officer, Owusu Manasseh, it has been over three months since the protest, and the company is yet to deliver on its promises.

Speaking to Adom News, Mr. Manasseh appealed to the authorities to expedite repairs, warning that failure to act will result in another, more intense demonstration by the union.

Meanwhile, several drivers shared their frustrations with Adom News, highlighting the significant challenges they face due to the unreliable ferry service, which has hampered transportation and business activities in the area.
