Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) spokesperson, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, believes Kurt Okraku should have apologized for his controversial remark about not working with his “enemies.”
Following his victory in the 2019 GFA presidential elections, Okraku, in an interview with Joy FM, stated that he would not collaborate with individuals he considered adversaries.
“I will not win an election and work with my enemies,” Okraku declared. “I will work with people who believe in me and can help me accomplish my mission.”
His statement was met with strong criticism from members of the football fraternity.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Sannie Daara insisted that Okraku should have publicly retracted his comment.
“Kurt Okraku should have publicly walked back on his ‘I won’t work with my enemies’ comment,” he said.
Despite acknowledging the divisions within Ghanaian football, Sannie Daara emphasized that he would never criticize Okraku publicly.
“There is no way I will go public and criticize Kurt Okraku when I can advise him privately.”
He also urged Okraku to focus on uniting the football community, emphasizing the need for harmony within the sport.
