Veteran football administrator Kofi Manu has sharply criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku, questioning his decision-making and overall performance.
Manu’s remarks reflect the growing dissatisfaction among football fans and stakeholders, who have increasingly expressed frustration with the state of Ghanaian football under Okraku’s tenure.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, Manu raised concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding the recent presentation of buses to football clubs, urging for greater accountability.
“First of all, as an association, are we aware of the money involved in the purchase of the buses? How did he (Kurt Okraku) get approval to buy the buses?” he quizzed.
The former Aduana Stars director also accused Okraku of using the bus presentation as a diversion from the Black Stars’ poor showing in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
“Running the FA is not about social media. Because the Black Stars performed abysmally, he wanted to use the presentation of the buses to suppress it, but it didn’t work,” Manu stated.
He then delivered a blunt critique of Okraku’s leadership, saying, “Kurt Okraku has performed badly as an FA President. He needs to resign if he has a conscience. For the first time in 20 years, you are not able to qualify for the AFCON, who resigns first?” he questioned.
