Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has criticized Kurt Okraku’s led Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its inability to develop and enhance the country’s national football teams.
His comments follow the Black Stars’ recent 2-0 defeat to Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The loss puts the senior national team at risk of missing out on the AFCON tournament for the first time in two decades.
Speaking to Oyerepa FM after the match, Agyemang-Badu, who is a former Black Stars midfielder, voiced his disappointment, attributing the decline in football standards in Ghana to Okraku’s leadership.
“Ghana’s national teams have faced nothing but failures and disasters under Kurt Okraku’s administration. From the U-17s to the Black Stars, our performances at major tournaments have fallen short of expectations,” he said.
Currently, Ghana is positioned third in Group F, having earned only two points from four matches.
The Black Stars will conclude their qualifying campaign against Angola and Niger, hoping for Sudan to lose their final games to keep their AFCON hopes alive for the tournament scheduled to be held in Morocco next year.
