Kuntu Blankson of Akan Drama fame allegedly commits suicide

Veteran Actor, Daniel Quayson Yeboah popularly known as “Kuntu Blankson”, who featured in the then-popular Akan Drama Series, has died in the wee hours of today, according to reorts.

The actor who formed part of the Cape Coast-based Adehyeman Drama Group allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his kitchen.

Joy News’ Central Regional correspondent, Richard Kojo Nyarko, in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM disclosed that he was a staff member at the University of Cape Coast Hospital until his sudden demise.

Richard further told Andy Dosty that this wasn’t the first time the actor, who is over 60 years, had attempted to take his own life.

According to him, some family members have arrived in his home with some of them weeping over his unfortunate demise.

“The incident happened this dawn in his kitchen. He walked into the kitchen and hanged himself. The police were present to handle the situation. He attempted suicide some time ago. This is not the first time. This is a preliminary report. Police haven’t spoken. We don’t know if something was burdening him yet…” he reported.

Kuntu was a staff member at the University of Cape Coast Hospital  Laboratory, until his sudden demise.

Circumstances leading to his death are not readily known but according to reports, he committed suicide by hanging himself.
