Kpando SHS wins 5th Energy Commission Renewable Challenge

Kpando Senior High School(SHS) in the Volta Region emerged as the winner of the fifth edition of the Energy Commission’s SHS Renewable Energy Challenge.

The final event, held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Tuesday, October 8, was themed “Application of Renewable Energy Technologies in Solving Land Degradation and Water Pollution.”

The Renewable Energy Challenge, organised by the Energy Commission, aims to educate and raise awareness among students on renewable energy resources and technologies.

It also seeks to promote creative thinking and problem-solving skills in students across senior high schools in Ghana.

This year’s challenge, which focuses on fostering energy research and development, saw Kpando Senior High School outperform five other schools to claim victory.

The schools that participated in the 2024 national finals were Kpando Senior High School, Dabokpa Technical Institute, Ahantaman Girls Senior High School, Ola Girls Senior High School, Obuasi Senior High Technical School, and St. James Seminary Senior High School.
