The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Adentan Constituency, Akosua Asaa Manu (Kozie), has taken a significant step towards enhancing security in the constituency by donating 10 motorbikes to the Adentan Divisional Police Command.
This gesture forms part of her broader commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents in her constituency.
The motorbikes will benefit several Police stations under the Adentan Divisional Headquarters, including Lakeside, Ogbojo, Sraha, Nmai Dzor, Fafraha (Foster Home), SSNIT Market, and Oyibi, all of which play a crucial role in maintaining law and order within their respective jurisdictions.
Adentan, a rapidly growing area within the Greater Accra Region, has been grappling with security concerns, including frequent reports of theft and other crimes.
Infrastructural challenges such as untarred roads and inadequate lighting in some parts contribute to these insecurities.
The motorbikes will therefore provide the police with easy mobility, allowing them to respond more quickly to incidents, particularly in areas with poor road networks.
This initiative is expected to improve the overall security situation in the municipality, covering a wider area more efficiently, especially in hard-to-reach locations like Lakeside, Ogbojo, Sraha, and Nmai Dzor.
The Adentan District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Richard Boateng, who received the motorbikes on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, expressed gratitude to Akosua Asaa Manu for her initiative.
He indicated that the motorbikes would be instrumental in the police’s efforts at combating crime and maintaining law and order.
“With these new resources, the police service will be better equipped to patrol neighbourhoods, respond to emergencies swiftly, and increase our presence in crime-prone areas,” he stated.
Akosua Manu’s donation of the motorbikes is a practical step towards creating a safer environment, which she believes is essential for fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
As a Parliamentary candidate, Kozie is keen to demonstrate that she is attentive to the needs of the Adentan community.
Her actions reflect her understanding of the importance of security in driving development and creating a conducive environment for residents to thrive.
The inclusion of multiple police stations such as those in Lakeside, Comm 8, Ogbojo, Sraha, Nmai Dzor, Fafraha (Foster Home), SSNIT Market, and Oyibi in the distribution plan ensures that every part of the Adentan constituency benefits from this security enhancement.
