Asante Kotoko National Circles Chairman, Kwaku Amponsa, also known as Chairman K5, has attributed the team’s problem of consistently conceding at the Baba Yara Stadium to technical deficiency.
According to K5, the reason why Kotoko has been conceding at home in their CAF Confederations Cup campaign shouldn’t be linked to spirituality but to the playing body and the technical team.
Kotoko has not been able to keep a clean sheet in all their three home games in the CAF Confederations Cup.
They drew 0-0 in Kenya against Kariobangi Sharks but the second leg ended 2-1 in Kumasi.
In the first leg of the final pay-offs, they lost 3-2 to Coton Sport in Cameroon but won 2-1 in Kumasi.
They conceded one after scoring twice against ZESCO United on Wednesday also in Kumasi.
“It is not spiritual because we have been getting calls from our supporters outside Kumasi who are working for the team spiritually, not to talk of those in Kumasi. Looking critically at the nature of goals being scored against Kotoko at home, the problem is not spiritual; it is a problem with the technical team and the playing body,” he told Asempa FM.
The supporter’s leader also thinks the Porcupine Warriors are suffering from a lack of adequate matches as a result of the absence of the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko is third in Group C with 3 points after two matches in the CAF Confederations Cup.
