Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, George Amoako, has assured the teaming supporters of the club to expect total football in the next three months as they continue to prepare the players to play together as a team.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are through to the second round of the CAF Champions League after a 4-3 aggregate victory over Nigerian opponents Kano Pillars at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, the CEO described the team’s performance after the game as “work in progress” since he believes they are now working with entirely new players.
“As for the team’s performance, I will say it is work in progress; they could have done much better but we are constrained by the fact that they have not played together for a long time, this is a team that is barely five weeks old.
“About changing the squad, we wanted to change it for quality squad; this is a squad that is not playing as a team yet but individually, they are good so when you direct them to do something, they are able to do it.
“That is why I am telling you that give me three months and let this team work together for three months you will see football,” he assured.
Kotoko will now face Tunisian giants, Etoile Du Sahel in the second round of the CAF Champions League. They will host the first leg on September 15 in Kumasi.
