Asante Kotoko have touched down at the Kotoka International Airport after their first round exit from the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors were edged out of the competition on penalty shootouts by Club Athletique Rennaissance de Aiglon (CARA) in Congo.
Kotoko missed three penalties from the first leg as the Congolese side levelled the deficit in regulation time to force the tie into penalties.
CARA came up tops in the intense shootout 7-6 amidst wild jubilations from fans.
Goalkeeper Felix Annan opened the scoring but this was followed by successive misses from striker Obed Owusu and captain Amos Frimpong.
Annan did his best to save three spot kicks from CARA Brazzaville.
Defenders Nafiu Awudu and Mohammed Yakubu also scored before Jackson Owusu missed his kick.
Later Jordan Opoku and Baba Mahama found the back of the net to lead but CARA levelled.
Still, in sudden death, Kwame Boahene missed before CARA converted expertly to progress to the penultimate qualifying round.
In the end, the home side emerged the happier team as the lottery went 7-6 in their favour.
