The founder of the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB), Kojo Yankah, has raised concerns about the shortcomings of Ghana’s education system.
According to him, the system has failed to teach students about their heritage and identity while focusing on subjects that may not be relevant in the future.
Mr. Yankah was speaking at an event held at the university’s campus in Adabraka to celebrate its milestone of becoming a full-fledged university.
After 22 years of shaping exceptional communicators and transitioning from the Africa Institute of Journalism and Communication (AIJC) to the African University College of Communications (AUCC), the institution received a presidential charter in December 2024.
This follows affiliations with the University of Ghana, the University of Education, Winneba, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
The Vice Chancellor of AUCB, Prof. Blankson, expressed gratitude to the management, students, and all those who contributed to the successful receipt of the university’s charter.
He pledged to continue working towards making the institution even greater.
Alumni President Dr. David Olaga Esq. highlighted how the university played a key role in their transition into society and committed the alumni’s support to help AUCB expand and thrive in the future.
