Kojo Bonsu laughs off Ade Coker’s outburst [Audio]

Kojo Bonsu, flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says he is not concerned about the outburst of the newly elected Greater Accra Regional Chairman of his party, Joseph Ade Coker following his decision to join the race.

Mr Kojo Bonsu, who is hoping to lead the NDC as its flagbearer for Election 2020 has disagreed with suggestions that he was incompetent as a mayor.

His decision has not gone down well with some members of his party.

One of such people is Joseph Ade Coker who is very incensed about the decision, telling Mr Bonsu to stay away from the race because presidency is not “cheap”.

Although Mr Bonsu has the right to contest the election as democracy permits, Mr Coker believes the former Kumasi Mayor does not qualify to lead the NDC.

Kojo Bonsu on Friday gave hints about his intention to contest and later followed up with a letter of intent to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Thursday, Kojo Bonsu said he wasn’t paying attention to Mr Coker and others criticising him.

“Ade Coker has every right to be angry about my decision. We are in a democracy and so I won’t respond to him. If he thinks, I can’t be President that is his view. I believe in myself and knows I can be President of Ghana,” he noted.
