Kojo Addae-Mensah: Pitso Mosimane would have been perfect replacement for Prosper Ogum

-

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Databank, Kojo Addae-Mensah, believes Asante Kotoko should have considered hiring South African coach Pitso Mosimane as the successor to Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Narteh Ogum, who returned to the club in July 2023, was dismissed due to disappointing results in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

In response, the Interim Management Committee has appointed former Kotoko player Karim Zito as the Interim Coach and Technical Director for the remainder of the season.

Additionally, Prince Yaw Owusu has been confirmed as the club’s assistant coach.

Despite the new appointments, Addae-Mensah, a former columnist for Kotoko Express, believes the club should have considered Mosimane, who previously managed top African clubs Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, as a potential candidate.

“Asante Kotoko should have gone for Pitso Mosimane as Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s replacement,” Addae-Mensah told LUV FM.

Currently sitting in 4th place on the league table with 47 points after 28 matches, the Porcupine Warriors will look to bounce back from recent struggles when they face Aduana FC in the Matchday 29 fixture on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT.
