In a commendable effort to address the pressing furniture challenges faced by schools in the Buem-Jasikan municipality of the Oti Region, Member of Parliament, Kofi Adams Iddi has donated 300 desks to the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Adom News reporter Obrempongba Owusu previously reported that school authorities in the area have expressed deep frustration over the acute shortage of furniture in schools, which has led to students resorting to sitting on the floor during class hours.

The contribution aims to enhance the learning environment for students and ensure that they have the necessary resources to succeed academically.

Presenting the furniture on behalf of Kofi Adams, the NDC Constituency Organizer, Seebaway Abubakar advocated for educational development in the municipality.

He highlighted that, Kofi Adams has consistently demonstrated his commitment to improving education in the Buem-Jasikan municipality.

Abubakar underscored the importance of providing adequate learning facilities to students, stating that a conducive learning environment is crucial for academic success.

He expressed hope that this donation would alleviate some of the furniture shortages that have hindered effective teaching and learning in local schools.

The acting GES Director, Roselyn Kafui Ofori, who received the desks, expressed profound gratitude for the timely donation, acknowledging the impact it will have on schools.

She noted that, the donation comes at a time when many schools in the Jasikan municipality have been struggling with inadequate furniture, forcing students to share desks or sit on the floor.

These desks will significantly improve the learning conditions for students and help move closer to their goal of providing quality education for all.

The Acting Director also took the occasion to appeal for more furniture to cover the deficit of over 4,000 desks in schools.
