The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Estonian Academy of Arts to strengthen the existing relationship between the two universities.
The MoU will focus on student and staff mobility, joint research, and the establishment of new programs.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Asamoah, highlighted the importance of partnerships in achieving the Vice-Chancellor’s vision of fostering collaboration with local and international partners. He expressed hope for a sustainable collaboration.
The Dean of the International Programmes Office, Professor Daniel Duah, stressed the cordial exchange between both institutions.
“Following the relationship between them, it was important to sign an MoU to guide a broader relationship that will focus on the 3 areas; staff mobility, student mobility and joint research,” he said.
Professor Mart Kalm, Rector of the Estonian Academy of Arts, commended the thriving arts education at KNUST and noted the passion and high quality of the students’ work.
He shared positive feedback from Estonian students who had previously participated in workshops and other programs at KNUST. Professor Kalm described the MoU as a good starting point to deepen collaboration between the two institutions.
“We have students who have already been here for workshops, and we’re very satisfied with their experiences,” he said.
