Pressure is beginning to mount on the police to arrest members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Invincible Forces for the illegal takeover of the management of the Kintampo Falls.
Following the tragic incident which led to 19 death and 22 injuries, it has emerged that there were no trained tour guides on hand to assist during the incident.
Executives of the NPP branch in Kintampo have admitted that they took over the falls from the previous management following the victory of the party in 2016.
Though deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Nana Obiri Boahen has stated that he sees nothing wrong with the Invincible Forces taking over the administration of the Kintampo Waterfalls, the Deputy Minority Leader James Klutse Avedzi is pushing for their arrest.
According to him, the previous workers were professionally trained tour guards and could have reduced the effects of the tragedy if the takeover had not occurred.
