Kim Bjorkegren praises players after victory over Senegal

Ghana’s Black Queens head coach, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, has commended his players for their determined performance in a 1-0 victory over Senegal in an international friendly at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thies.

The match saw midfielder Evelyn Badu score the only goal of the game with a well-timed header in the first half, securing the win for Ghana.

“Of course, in professional football, you’re always happy when you win,” Bjorkegren told GFA Media after the game.

“For us, there was one main aim: to win the game. We were able to score a beautiful goal exactly how we wanted to play, with a perfect cross. Evelyn scored with a great header from a number 10 position,” he added.

The friendly is part of the Black Queens’ ongoing nine-day training camp, organized by the Ghana Football Association, in preparation for upcoming international engagements.

Ghana and Senegal are set to meet again on Tuesday, continuing their build-up to key fixtures later in the year, including the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held in Morocco.
