The school management of Kete-Krachi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region is calling on the government, NGOs, and other stakeholders to provide the necessary facilities to ensure that the students receive a quality education.
The school, which was established in 1991, is in dire need of teachers bungalows, a dining hall, and additional classrooms to accommodate the growing student population.
Headmaster, Prosper David Katey made the appeal when the Kete Muslim Youth Association donated air conditioners, a water pumping machine, stabilizers, and curtains worth over GH¢30,000 to the school in order to help complete their ICT laboratory.
According to him, the lack of adequate accommodation for teachers, a dining hall, and classrooms has been a long-standing issue at Kete-Krachi SHTS.
The headmaster noted that ,as the school continues to grow and thrive, it is essential that the necessary resources and support are provided to meet the needs of its students and staff.
He said by addressing these needs, the school can enhance its learning ability as a leading educational institution in the area.
The headmaster expressed gratitude to the Kete Muslim Youth Association for their generous donation of air conditioners, which will help create a more comfortable learning environment for students and teachers alike.
He urged other community members and stakeholders to support the school in its efforts to improve infrastructure to ensure all students have access to a quality education.
Secretary of the Kete Muslim Youth Association, Hukash Muntari said the Association is committed to supporting education and youth development in the community.
He explained that, the donation of air conditioners will help create a conducive learning environment for students in the ICT laboratory, allowing them to focus on their studies without being distracted by the heat.
The water pumping machine, he noted will also ensure that the school has a reliable source of water for various activities.
The Secretary noted that, the Association aims to make a positive impact in the lives of young people in the community and contribute to their overall well-being.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News, an alumnus of the school and Executive Adviser of the Europe branch of the Kete Muslims Youth Association, Abdul-Gafar Sualiu, also advised students to take their studies seriously inspite of the infrastructural challenges they may face.
He emphasized the importance of education in achieving success in life.
