Former Assin Central Member of Parliament(MP) Kennedy Agyapong has been honoured with the Lifetime Nationalist Achievement Award.
This was at the Central Legends Honours and Awards ceremony held at the University of Education, Winneba on Sunday, March 2.
The awards scheme is an initiative aimed at recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to the Central Region in various sectors, including governance, business, academia, and social development.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Agyapong expressed gratitude, describing the award as a reflection of his unwavering commitment to the advancement of the region and the country.
“This recognition is a testament to my years of dedication and commitment to the development of the Central Region and the nation,” he stated.
Mr. Agyapong underscored the importance of collaboration between traditional authorities and key stakeholders in addressing unemployment, a persistent challenge in the region.
“Economic growth and job creation require collective action. We need to work together to build lasting opportunities for future generations,” he emphasized.
He called for a unified approach to development, stressing that effective partnerships between government, private entities, and local leadership would accelerate progress in job creation, youth empowerment, and industrial expansion.
Kennedy Agyapong, known for his outspoken nature and entrepreneurial success, has been a key advocate for industrialization and economic self-sufficiency in Ghana.
Over the years, he has championed several business and philanthropic initiatives, particularly in the Central Region, aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and improving livelihoods.
The event brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, business leaders, and members of the academic community, all of whom lauded Mr. Agyapong for his contributions to national development.
