The maverick politician has been accused of making some disparaging remarks against parliament and the Majority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, describing the August House as “useless” for having the Suame MP as its leader.
There are reports the NPP MP may be sanctioned if a prima facie case is established against him after opposition MP Muntaka Mubarak reported him to the House.
Mr Agyapong who appeared before the Privileges Committee with his lawyers, KT Hammond and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, on Tuesday, refused to sit by the complainant as was arranged by the committee.

The lawyers of the accused MP argued among other things that some members of the committee had prejudiced themselves by commenting on the matter through interviews with journalists ahead of the hearing.
They also presented a letter indicating that members of the committee from the Central region intend to recuse themselves from the hearing due to their relationship with the accused.
However, the chairman of the committee after being served with a letter by the Central regional MPs suspended the hearing for their request to be considered.
