Kejetia-Central Market traders excited as redevelopment project resumes

-

Traders in the Ashanti region have expressed satisfaction with the resumption of work on phase two of the Kejetia-Central Market redevelopment project, which had been abandoned for over a year.

They are urging the government to ensure its swift completion to dispel rumours that the project might be used as a political tool during the upcoming general elections.

The redevelopment project, which commenced in 2022, was halted in early 2023 due to funding shortages.

This led to numerous appeals from traders and residents for the government to resume work, with some even threatening to demonstrate to demand the release of funds.

Traders are relieved that work has resumed but remain cautious about the completion timeline provided by contractors.

They are calling on the government to expedite the project to alleviate their concerns.
