Kafui Danku-Pitcher appointed Executive Secretary of National Film Authority

Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana.

A highly accomplished professional, Kafui Danku-Pitcher is known for her work in filmmaking, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for social causes.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics from the University of Cape Coast and is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana.

With extensive experience in the creative industry, leadership, and governance, she has demonstrated strong skills in communication, digital literacy, and fostering collaborations.

Her vision for the creative arts sector in Ghana includes advancing cultural preservation, economic growth, and strategic policies.

Having worked as an actress and filmmaker since 2008, she has been an executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited since 2013. Kafui has also served with the UNHCR as a Repatriation Assistant, where she gained valuable experience in project implementation, data analysis, and monitoring standards.

As an activist and Goodwill Ambassador, Kafui is committed to social issues, having launched initiatives like ‘Silence Is Not Golden’ to encourage women to speak out and supporting children affected by Kwashiorkor.

Her dedication to women’s empowerment earned her recognition from the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for Advancing the Role of Women in Politics, Peace, Security, and Economic Institutions.

Kafui has been recognized with multiple awards, including Tourism Personality of the Year 2024, and continues to empower start-up businesses through her ‘Dream Achievers Project.’

Her leadership at the NFA aims to foster a thriving creative arts industry and contribute significantly to Ghana’s GDP.
