KABA was one of the best political show hosts since Independence – Affail Money

President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Roland Affail Monney says the late Kwadwo Asare Baffuor Acheampong (KABA) was one of the best political talk show hosts the country has seen since Independence.
In a moving tribute to the late afternoon political talk show host on Asempa 94.7 FM, Mr Monney said Ghana has lost a huge asset.
“He distinguished himself as one of the best political talk show hosts Ghana has ever had since independence,” Mr. Monney said on Joy FM Super Morning Show on Monday.
“His sense of neutrality, objectivity, professionalism was always in full glow and this made it attractive for politicians from all spheres to participate in his programme,” he added.
KABA died on Saturday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He was 37 years old.
He was the host of ‘Ekosii Sen’ on the Multimedia Group’s Asempa FM.
He left behind a wife and a daughter.
His family, colleagues, the media fraternity, politicians and Ghanaians in general are yet to come to terms with the sudden death of the man who was loved by many.
Mr Monney who taught KABA at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) said he distinguished himself among his peers and “within a short span of time KABA shot into the limelight by virtue of the distinctive quality of his work.”
The GJA President thinks KABA’s contribution to political journalism and journalism in general; and to national development and democracy was so high such that, even in death, the mark he has left will continue to extol his name as one of the purest professional gems Ghana has ever produced.
He described his early demise as an “earth-shattering shock, a tragedy of shattering magnitude to the media fraternity and devastating consequences to the family.”
“It is said that the quality of a man’s life is not measured by  duration, but by their contribution to humanity,” Mr Monney said, adding that “we are bleeding profusely.”
He expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, especially his wife and the young child he has left behind.
