Kaakie was a talented artist but… – JMJ

-

Ghanaian music producer JMJ has addressed rumours surrounding the departure of his former artiste, Kaakie, from the Xtra Large Music record label.

Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, JMJ clarified that Kaakie’s exit was largely due to her lack of long-term commitment to music, rather than any personal or financial disputes.

“What I know that you people didn’t know was that Kaakie loved music, but she wasn’t passionate about it,” he explained.

JMJ recalled an instance where radio host Abeiku Santana directly asked Kaakie if he had “chopped her money or done anything bad,” to which she responded “no.”

He further highlighted the challenges Kaakie faced trying to balance her music career with her university education, particularly as she was pursuing nursing — a demanding course.

“Kaakie didn’t have time for music but she was so talented that just 10 minutes in the studio would blow your mind. She had little time, and don’t forget, she was also in school. Nursing is not an easy course. So she was balancing the two, which I understood,” JMJ added.

He stressed that although Kaakie loved music, she didn’t view it as a long-term career, which eventually led to her decision to step away and focus on family and education.

Meanwhile, Kaakie has hinted at making a return to active music in the near future.
