Asante Kotoko midfielder and Vice-Captain Justice Blay has committed his future to the club, signing a contract extension that will keep him with the Porcupine Warriors until 2026.
Blay’s initial contract was set to run out in January 2025, but following successful negotiations, the club announced the new deal on Thursday via their official social media channels.
“We are excited to announce that Vice-Captain Justice Blay has signed a new deal to stay with Asante Kotoko for an additional one and a half years,” the club said in a statement on Thursday.
“This extension reflects Blay’s unwavering commitment to the club and his desire to help us achieve our goals.”
Blay first joined Asante Kotoko on loan during the 2019/2020 season from Medeama SC, where he quickly proved his worth, scoring two goals in 12 appearances.
His impressive displays led to a permanent move ahead of the 2021/2022 season.
Since then, Blay has cemented his status as a key player, featuring in 56 league matches for the club.
This season, he has made 12 appearances out of 15 in the Ghana Premier League, scoring once and showcasing the leadership and consistency that have made him a fan favourite.
By securing Blay’s services for an extended period, Asante Kotoko not only bolster their midfield but also maintains the invaluable experience and influence he brings to the squad as they pursue their goals.
