The lady suspected to have caused bodily harm on a 5-year-old boy, leading to the amputation of his hand was, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, arraigned before a District Magistrate Court of Abura Dunkwa Kwamankese.
Efua Abaduwa was arraigned on a provisional charge of causing harm and has been subsequently remanded into prison custody until February 14, 2019.

Also arrested in connection with the case is the father of the victim, David Mensah, aged 36 and he has also been remanded into prison custody by the same court to reappear on the same date.
Mr Mensah was also provisionally charged with the offence of abetment of crime, Multimedia reporter, Richard Kojo Nyarko, has reported.
Meanwhile, the victim has successfully undergone an operation on the hand at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital where he’s currently on admission.

BACKGROUND
Efua Abaduwa and her 5-year-old stepson were said to be going to farm when the son had taken the lead and defecated on the farm.
Efua said on realising what his son had done, wanted to hit him with a cutlass but she accidentally ended up cutting his hand.
According to her narration, she tried treating the wound with hot water but the boy did not oblige.

However, Isaac was not sent to the hospital until two other people who went to the village, saw him and took him to the Social Welfare.
