Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to President Mahama, Joyce Bawah, has issued a strong warning against the dissemination of false reports about her.
In a Facebook post on February 24, 2025, she stated that she would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone responsible for spreading “false and malicious publications.”
This statement follows accusations from some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who claim that she illegally acquired a vehicle for her personal use.
In response, Joyce Bawah vehemently denied the allegations, calling them baseless and reflective of the unjust tactics employed by the opposition after their electoral defeat. She firmly asserted that she lawfully obtained the vehicle for personal use.
“Their attacks would have been justified if in their haste to attack me, they were able to show that the acquisition was not in full compliance with my Conditions of Service or any law,” she wrote.
Bawah further emphasized her commitment to adhering to the country’s laws, noting that she has never been involved in any scandal or investigation related to the alleged illegal acquisition of the vehicle.
She pointed out that despite her legal compliance, prominent members of the NPP continue to target her out of frustration, frequently making unfounded accusations.
Additionally, she clarified that she is not responsible for determining vehicle valuations and suggested that anyone questioning the value of her vehicle should direct their inquiries to the State Transport Corporation (STC) for accurate information.
“Valuation of vehicles is done by STC, and as the experts, they have their established criteria for conducting valuations. It is completely out of place for anyone to attack me over the price of the vehicle when the real questions should be directed at STC to lay bare the parameters for determining the prices of vehicles,” she concluded.
