Ghana forward Jordan Ayew scored his first goal for Leicester City in their EFL Cup match against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Ayew opened the scoring for the Foxes with a spectacular long-range strike in the 38th minute, after receiving a pass from Harry Winks. His goal gave Leicester City a 1-0 advantage going into halftime.

In the second half, Stephy Mavididi extended the lead by converting a penalty in the 51st minute.

Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks added goals in the 71st and 90th minutes, respectively, securing a 4-0 victory for Leicester City and their progression to the next round.

The 32-year-old Ayew joined Leicester City this summer from Premier League side Crystal Palace in an £8 million deal and made his debut for the club against Fulham last weekend.

Ayew will hope to keep his place in the team when they host Aston Villa at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
