Leicester City’s newly signed striker, Jordan Ayew, has shared the key reasons behind his decision to join the club, highlighting the pivotal influence of manager, Steve Cooper in the move.
The Ghanaian international finalized his transfer from Crystal Palace on Friday, marking a reunion with Cooper, who previously coached him at Swansea City.
“As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve,” Ayew explained after signing a two-year contract.
“Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets,” he added.
Ayew played an important role during his six years at Crystal Palace, but a reduced role under new head coach Oliver Glasner paved the way for his switch to Leicester.
He is now focused on helping the Foxes secure their place in the Premier League.
Leicester City returned to the Premier League this season after winning the Championship, following their relegation at the end of the 2022/23 season.
