John Mahama accuses NPP of wanting to rewrite Ghana’s history

-

Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is asking Ghanaians to reject any attempt by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to rewrite the history of the country.

John Mahama was responding to the argument that Ghana has founders and not a founder.

Speaking to residents of the Bolga East constituency, John Mahama said the fight over who founded Ghana is needless, arguing that Kwame Nkrumah remains the only founder of the country.

According to him, the ruling regime wants to rewrite the country’s history and must be rejected by Ghanaians.

John Mahama agrees that others joined the liberation struggle, but Nkrumah stood tall and firm in achieving the target.

He stressed that, a future NDC government would reverse the Founders’ Day dates and make the recognition solely about Nkrumah.

John Mahama has been canvassing for votes in the Binduri, Zebilla, and Bolga East constituencies on day two of his tour of the Upper East region.
