Ghanaian journalist and author, Manasseh Azure Awuni, has revealed Member of Parliament for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak, and First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu are unhappy about the current state of the House.
According to Mr Azure, the duo have admitted Parliament is in difficulty but are ‘helpless’.
“Generally, there are people who especially Joe Osei-Owusu, Muntaka, they are not happy with Parliament. Muntaka said 70% of the problems in this country should be traced to Parliament.
“They are not happy, they know they are in a mess, but it’s difficult to fight from within. So, when they get the platform, they can speak,” the journalist revealed on Accra-based Channel One TV.
This revelation, Mr Azure explained came to light during interviews for his new book, The President Ghana Never Got, which was launched on August 8.
The 400-page book chronicles Akufo-Addo’s reign as President of Ghana, and Manasseh Azure Awuni shared the challenges he faced in attempting to interview the president for the book.
This latest project follows his 2016 book, “The Fourth John: Reign, Rejection & Rebound,” which chronicled the presidency of John Dramani Mahama as he left office.
