The Volta Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hajia Hawa Tahiru, has reassured women in the region that the promises made by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang during the 2024 campaign will be honored.
Speaking to Adom News, Hajia Hawa highlighted the establishment of the Women’s Bank, the Suyaya Fund, and other initiatives aimed at empowering women, affirming the party’s commitment to their implementation.
She emphasized that the overwhelming support from the Volta Region, which delivered 97.11% of votes for the NDC in the 2024 elections, will not be taken for granted.
“The promises made to the people of Volta, especially women, will be fulfilled,” she assured.
Hajia Hawa also called on party sympathizers to remain united in supporting President Mahama and Vice President Opoku-Agyemang in achieving their vision for the country.
Additionally, she expressed gratitude to President Mahama and the NDC leadership for placing their trust in Professor Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate in the 2024 elections and now as the first female Vice President of Ghana.
