The chiefs and residents of Jamera in the Suma Traditional Area of the Jaman North District in the Bono Region, are appealing for support to complete a self-help Police station project to bolster security in the area.
During the Sungbɛɛ festival celebrations, Nana Sah Fufuoh, the Jamerahene and Nifahene of the Suma Traditional Area, expressed deep concerns about the rising insecurity in the border community.
He noted that, the absence of a Police station has led to increased social vices and poses a significant threat to the safety of the residents.
To address this issue, the community embarked on a self-help initiative to build a Police station but requires both governmental and individual assistance to complete the project.
The Akwamhene of Jamera, Nana Yaw Tor Blor, also voiced his concerns about the poor condition of local roads, including Sampa Kabile, Jamera Bonakre, and Adadiem roads.
He urged the government to prioritize the repair and improvement of these vital transportation links.
In response, both the NDC and NPP parties have supported the call for enhanced security and the completion of the Police station.
They praised the community’s proactive approach to addressing their security needs and have pledged financial donations to support the project.
