The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared that he deserves the opportunity to lead Ghana, citing his significant achievements as Vice President.
During a stakeholder engagement at the Kasoa Odekro Palace on Monday, part of his tour in the Awutu Senya East constituency, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that he is widely regarded as the best Vice President in Ghana’s history.
He highlighted his instrumental role in implementing 33 key government policies, contrasting his accomplishments with those of former President John Dramani Mahama, who, according to Dr. Bawumia, did not achieve similar milestones during his tenure as Vice President.
Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to support his presidential bid, promising to be a “brand new tear rubber” leader for the nation.
“I have implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them.
“So, it means that I have passed the job as a Vice President. So, vote for me so I become President.”
“I am a Vice President so if you vote for me, you will get a brand-new tear rubber President. When you vote for the former president, you will get home used second-hand President,” he stated.
