Former Ghanaian international, Sam Johnson has described as stressfultaking up a coaching career in the country.
According to him, owners of clubs in Ghana tend to hate coaches who are truthful and speak their mind.
“Coaching in Ghana is very stressful. The conditions are not favorable as well. Issues of officiating does not help matters and the clubs are unable to take good care of the players so they can give their best on the field of play”, he said on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports show Wednesday.
The former assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak said he resigned because Sam Johnson said he complained about players welfare and management thought he is being a torn in their flesh.
The former Fenerbache midfielder disclosed that “when footballers are not well taken care of, they do not give out their best and will not listen to any instructions given them and I cannot tolerate such a behavior so until Clubs learn to pay salaries on time to keep the players happy and ready to work, I will not venture into coaching in Ghana”.
Sam Johnson vowed not to coach any team full time but I open to do it part-time.
