Investigate diversion of 2016 campaign cash not audit service – Mosquito counseled

-

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has been advised to channel his time and resources into investigating why funds earmarked for the NDC’s campaign in 2016, did not reach the grassroots for the intended purpose.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide says Mr Asiedu Nketia’s sudden attacks on the chairman of the Audit Service Board, Professor Edward Duah Agyeman are unnecessary and uncalled for.

What is Asiedu Nketia’s problem with the Audit service? As the General Secretary of the NDC, it is his duty to investigate the diversion of the 2016 campaign cash and not audit service. It is not his job to tell who is corrupt or not. Deal with your party issues first. Tell us how funds went missing [in your party],” he said on Okay FM as monitored by Adomonline.com.

Mr Nketiah, at a press conference on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, attacked Prof Agyeman, questioning his involvement in what he described as a fake audit that is aimed at discrediting the image of former government appointees under the Mahama administration.

Mr Nketia also alleged that Prof Agyemang’s track record of fraud makes him undeserving of his current post.

Prof Agyeman has since threatened to sue the NDC General Secretary but Mr Nketia has indicated his readiness to face him in court over the matter.

Mr Hadzide has, therefore, charged Mr Nketiah to channel his efforts into finding out why funds earmarked for the NDC’s campaign in 2016 did not reach the grassroots for the intended purpose.
