Interior Ministry renews curfew in Bawku Municipality

The Ministry of the Interior has announced the renewal of the curfew imposed on the Bawku Municipality and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region.

The curfew, effective Monday, January 27, 2025, will run daily from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mrs. Doreen P. Annan, on the same day.

The government has appealed to Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, and the youth in the area to remain calm and use peaceful, non-violent approaches to address ongoing challenges.

Additionally, a total ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons remains in force in the affected communities.

Anyone found violating this directive will be arrested and prosecuted.
