If you’re worried that your partner may be cheating on you, there are a few warning signs worth looking out for.
Couples therapist Melissa Ferrari claims that a change in your partner’s behaviour when it comes to their mobile phone could suggest they’re up to something.
The main thing to look out for is if they start putting their phone face down, so you can’t see the screen.
She told Whimn : “A phone that is suddenly placed facedown after being years with someone would be a possible red flag.
“The truth is that by the time the phone is switched to silent and face down means that you have likely missed numerous red flags upon the journey.”
Other signs include your partner being more distracted than usual or perhaps less interested in you, which could mean their mind is elsewhere.
She continued: “Another would be your partner being less available psychologically and physically to you, and the one that people don’t often consider is if your partner begins doing things less as a couple and more independent of you.”
But she also warns that a sudden start in wanting more sex, their hormones could be in overdrive as a result of someone else showing them interest.
She also urges people to trust their intuition as it can say a lot about a relationship, and controversially suggests snooping through your partner’s phone to see whether you can find any incriminating evidence.
According to Extramarital affair site Ashley Madison, 56 per cent of cheaters use their mobile phone when they are contacting their other partners.
Whilst 82 per cent admit that they carry their phone around with them at all times, so that their partner can’t secretly look through them.
Additionally, 44 per cent communicate via email, 20 per cent use dating websites and social media direct messages and 11 per cent go as far as owning a secret phone.
Since all of these methods all take place on a mobile device, it makes sense as to why cheaters would want to hide this from their other half.
However, readers told the publication that if they catch their partner’s phone face down it doesn’t always have an underlying meaning, and it could simply be a msitake.
