Ghana forward, Inaki Williams returned to scoring form as Athletic Bilbao clinched a 2-0 win against Villarreal in a La Liga clash at the Estadio San Mamés.
The home side broke the deadlock in the 21st minute, with Aitor Paredes finding the net to give Bilbao a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
In the second half, Williams doubled the lead in the 69th minute, capitalizing on a precise assist from Oihan Sancet. The forward’s trademark speed and composure were on full display throughout his 86 minutes on the pitch before being replaced by Nico Serrano.
Williams has been a standout performer for the Basque club this season, contributing four goals and four assists in 16 La Liga appearances. His consistency has been vital in Bilbao’s pursuit of a strong league finish.
The win moves Athletic Bilbao up to fourth place on the league table with 32 points. Up next, they face Fenerbahçe SK at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in the Europa League, followed by an away game against Alavés in La Liga.
