Ghana forward, Iñaki Williams delivered a stellar performance, scoring twice to lead Athletic Bilbao to a commanding 2-0 victory over Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Wednesday.
Williams opened the scoring early in the 5th minute, seizing on a sloppy pass from the Fenerbahce defense to calmly slot the ball home.
He doubled his tally just before halftime with a stunning strike in the 45th minute. Picking up the ball inside the box, Williams unleashed a thunderous shot that ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net, leaving Fenerbahce goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic helpless.
The brace highlighted Williams’ exceptional attacking prowess and clinical finishing. Throughout the match, he consistently troubled the Fenerbahce backline with his speed, agility, and unrelenting energy.
After his standout performance, Williams was substituted in the 85th minute for Mikel Vesga, having solidified Athletic Bilbao’s position at the top of their Europa League group.
The win has propelled Athletic Bilbao to the top of the Europa League table with 16 points after six games.
