I’m scared of men now – Vicky Zugah

When it comes to relationships, Vicky Zugah has had really bad luck and those horrible experiences seem to be scaring her away from men.
Last year, Vicky, unlike some of her colleague celebrities who prefer to keep their relationship issues private, came out boldly to talk about the abuse she suffered at the hands of some of her exes including DJ Cash, actor Leo Mensah and Adrian Bolt Lewis, who represented Sierra Leone in Big Brother Africa – The Chase.
And now the single mother tells Showbiz she is scared about giving her heart to any man since she can’t be sure of who they are. “I cannot tell who a genuine man is due to my past experiences.
I have had a lot of men proposing to me but truth is, I am very scared of them,” she said in a chat on Monday.
According to Vicky, although she experiences bouts of loneliness sometimes, she prefers to be happy as a single women than to be with an abusive man.
“The abuse really affected me and I don’t want to repeat it. I cried a lot when I was alone because my work, family and every other thing was affected,” she said.
The My Darling Princess actress said it will probably take a long time to go into another relationship because she would have to really investigate the man’s background before giving in.
“Some men can pretend to be who they are not and unfortunately for me, I am someone who easily falls for guys who show me a lot of affection,” she said.
Asked what kind of man catches her fancy, Vicky said she easily falls for dark men who have a sense of humour.
“I don’t know what it is with dark men but I am really attracted to them. It usually doesn’t take a long time for dark men to win me over,” she said.
In spite of her fears, Vicky is still hopeful that she will find happiness.
She has started a campaign that focuses on ending violence against women and she tells Showbiz, she is amazed at the kind of response she has gotten so far.
“It’s amazing the kind of response I get anytime I reach out to people about the campaign. Some of the stories I hear baffles me,” she said.
Vicky Zugah, who also has movies like Girls Connection, Agatha, Who Knows Tomorrow and Pretty Queen to her credit said she is planning to release her first self-produced movie soon.
