North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP) Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed pride in being the Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team.
The five-member committee was established by President John Mahama as part of efforts to recover looted state assets.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee on Friday, the Foreign Affairs Minister nominee stated that ORAL has come to stay, and that the President must be commended for this initiative.
“One of the jobs I will always remain proud of is this sacrificial role as chair of ORAL, which plays a major part in President Mahama’s anti-corruption drive. The establishment of ORAL is a masterstroke, and President Mahama must be commended,” he said.
He noted that the team, which has so far received 700 petitions, will soon hand over its report to President Mahama.
Meanwhile, the Attorney-General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has announced plans to meet with the team to receive the information gathered so far for further action.
