Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has refuted claims that he will meet with Asamoah Gyan, Andre and Jordan Ayew before inviting them for Ghana’s next international assignment.
Report went widespread over the weekend that coach Appiah hold a clear the air meeting with Gyan, Andre and Jordan Ayew in the coming days before recalling them to the team for subsequent matches in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
However, the former Al Khartoum trainer vehemently debunked the report.
“I have no plans of meeting any player so it is not true that I was going to meet the Ayews,” he told Asante Fokuo of ATL FM on the team’s arrival from Kenya.
The 58-year-old further stated that he has not said it anywhere that he was going to meet the Ayews and anybody with evidence can provide it.
In the absence of the trio, the four-time African champions suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to the Harambee Stars of Kenya on matchday 2 of the Afcon 2019 qualifiers.
