I'm not a gospel artiste – Cwesi Oteng

-

Award-winning gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng has urged Ghanaians to refrain from calling him a gospel musician.
Speaking on Daybreak Hits on Hitz FM with host Andy Dosty, the ‘God Dey Bless Me’ hit maker said he believes being labelled a gospel musician in Ghana is “overrated and baseless”.
Rather, Cwesi Oteng said he prefers to be called a ‘Christian’ artiste since it tallies with his purpose, plan and vision in the music industry.
It’s overused and become baseless to me. I prefer to be called a Christian artiste because it moves with my purpose, plan, and vision; anyone can be a gospel artiste now so I prefer this…” he said.
He continued that: “I don’t want to be urban, contemporary artiste. I am a Christian artiste. People want that, and I am not interested. I was not called to establish that. I am pushing a Christ agenda that is heavenly…” Cwesi maintained.
The ‘Christian’ artiste further lambasted people who dislike others to express their opinion about subjects.
“I think we have a lot of nonsense to face. I am a no nonsense person. But people like to box people with their opinions. I am not to be boxed…”
Asked if he is an arrogant person in nature, he declined saying: “You will be amazed to know me. I decided to be a great person when I am matured and I prepare towards it. I am not arrogant…” he said on Hitz FM.
