I’m homeless, management stole my money — Nigeria’s Aunty Ramota begs for help

Nigerian actress Ramota Adetu, popularly known as Aunty Ramota, has shared her financial difficulties and current living situation.

In a now-viral video, Aunty Ramota disclosed that she is currently without a home, having been asked to vacate her previous accommodation.

According to the actress, the woman she had been living with recently got married and requested her to leave, explaining that her husband was uneasy with her staying there.

Aunty Ramota further explained that, her hope of moving into a home of her own had been stalled as the individual helping her build her house had halted the project due to personal challenges.

On top of these setbacks, the actress alleged mismanagement and financial exploitation by her management team, accusing them of mishandling her earnings and deleting her social media accounts despite her tireless efforts.

“I am currently stranded without accommodation. The lady I was staying with got married last month, and she asked me to leave because her husband was not comfortable with me staying there,” she said.

“The man who was helping me build my house stopped because of personal issues. To make things worse, my management stole all the money I had. They even deleted my TikTok and every other social media account.

“I worked so hard, but they kept cheating me because they thought I would not know how much we were really making. Now, I do not even have enough to rent a place.

“Someone kindly offered to rent a space for me, but I told them I want to finish building my house, even if it’s just one room, so I can finally have a place to call my own.”

Renowned for her comedic roles in Yoruba films, Aunty Ramota recently starred in Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre, a film by acclaimed director Kunle Afolayan.
