The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, has promised to ensure that health facilities are well-equipped to provide quality healthcare services to the people.
She said this at Goaso in an interview with Adom News during a welcome durbar organized by the chiefs and people of the area.
The minister explained that before her appointment, she visited some health facilities and observed that they lacked adequate beds, incubators, and other essential medical equipment.
According to her, the absence of modern equipment in many health facilities in the region is affecting the delivery of quality healthcare.
She has therefore pledged to establish a good rapport with the Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and constantly remind him to supply the necessary equipment to the region.
Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Nana Anim Dankwah, the Saamanhene of Kenyasi No. 1, urged the minister to do her best to develop the region.
He stated that the people need good roads, potable and accessible water, well-equipped health facilities, and quality schools, among other necessities.
Nana Dankwah also assured that the chiefs would remain engaged with her and provide the necessary guidance to help her succeed in her role.
