Samuel Nartey George, Minister-designate for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, has warned that Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) failing to meet required quality standards will face sanctions, including fines.
During his vetting on Thursday, he affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting MNOs in improving infrastructure, while stressing the need for accountability in service delivery.
“I will not be a minister who’ll be afraid to impose a fine when MNOs fail to provide the quality of services required,” George stated.
He pledged to ensure that service providers are held accountable while fostering technological innovation in the country’s digital sector.
