I’ll ensure alleged witches are reintegrated – Northern Region Minister-designate

The Northern Region Minister-Designate, Ali Adolf G. John, has made a commitment to tackle the long-standing issue of alleged witches facing abuse and ostracism in some communities.

During his vetting on Thursday, January 23, Mr Adolf expressed deep concern over the plight of accused individuals, particularly elderly women, who are often subjected to public humiliation, banishment, and physical harm.

He pledged to work closely with traditional rulers to protect accused individuals and facilitate their reintegration into society.

He emphasized the importance of collective action to ensure dignity and safety for all, describing some reported cases as horrific.

“Most of the aged are often accused of witchcraft and some of the footage is horrific so I will do everything possible with the traditional leaders to handle this issue. We need the intervention of the traditional rulers to help us help these people to reintegrate them back into society,” he said.
