IGP is a “clueless police officer” – NDC man jabs

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu has incurred the wrath of many for the increased insecurity in the country.
The daylight Rambo-style robberies in some commercial areas in Accra have left many living in fear and others wondering whether the Police chief is in charge.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Greater Accra Regional Secretary, Anthony Nukpenu, is convinced the IGP is “clueless” about the security situation in the country.

In his view, the appointment of David Asante-Apeatu opened the flood gate for criminals, vigilante groups and other forms atrocities in the country.
“IGP is a clueless police officer because he is sleeping on the job; he has refused to protect his own policemen and our lives as citizens are in danger”, he bemoaned.

Anthony Nukpenu also accused the police patrol team of rather extorting monies from residents instead of providing security for them.

“We cannot leave in a country where we have lazy people in uniform. Police patrol teams are most corrupt; they go round and take money from people instead of ensuring security”, he added.

 The NDC man said until the IGP sits up, the crime rate of Ghana will continue to rise.

“Please, Mr. Apeatu sit up, I can’t take this from you again”, he stressed.
